We are delighted to announce that this year's tourism awards are now open earlier than ever before, to give entrants time to complete their forms before the season starts in earnest.

Simon Nicholls, Managing Director of new Headline sponsor Beco Energy, says: “Beco Energy have enjoyed being part of the Devon Tourism Awards over the years and are delighted to announce their new role as headline sponsors.

We turn 40 this year and are offering Champagne / Devon sparkling wine (your choice) to all new clients! The Awards look at so many aspects of the tourism business: service, investment and of course sustainability, all of them factors which are also at the heart of our business of efficient energy and power. We look forward to another bumper year helping Tourism entrants save money, reduce carbon and drink free bubbles on us!”

This year’s awards see brand new websites, new shorter entry forms and a new online entry process. You can download practice entry forms here so that you and your teams can draft your answers but the final version must be submited online here.

There is also an incentive for early entry, intended to encourage submissions between February Half Term and Easter. Our aim is to spread judging over a far longer period than in the past enabling us to plan judging visits when they are best both for entrants and our judges.

ENTER BY 29 MARCH – enter early and as long as your entry form scores a minimum of 75% we will guarantee you a judging visit (if entering in a category where we carry out visits).  Past entrants have always told us that they prefer to be judged on ‘the real thing’ rather than how well entry forms are completed and this will enable this to happen.

ENTER AFTER 29 MARCH BUT BEFORE 30 APRIL – if you don’t meet the early deadline then we will still accept your entry, but will only visit the top scoring entrants (often just the top 3 in any category)

NO EXTENSIONS – to be fair to early entrants and our volunteer judges we will NOT extend either of the above deadlines except in exceptional circumstances and for selected categories.

Good luck.

“The Awards continue to evolve in parallel with industry trends, with feedback from last year’s entrants telling us that 78% of Devon entrants now take part for the independent feedback they receive. This year’s Awards see many further changes, with new websites, shorter entry forms and a new entry system, and we look forward to receiving as many entries as possible”

Organiser of the awards, Robin Barker

Entry is free, the programmes being funded by a range of sponsors and partners, and all entrants receive feedback.
